Chloe Ratti – Marketing Specialist

Chloe Ratti is our Marketing Specialist.

They have been with the Chalmers Foundation for six years, working alongside the kitchen staff for a year, then overseeing and organizing activities and events for three and a half years, and now taking care of our Marketing department.

Chloe has a Business Management Certificate and a Digital Marketing Associate Certificate from BCIT.

They speak fluent Italian and enjoy playing board games, rock climbing and voice acting on their free time.

David Johnson – Chef Manager

David was born and raised in Powell River, BC.

He came to Vancouver to take his Culinary training. For part of his schooling, he lived at Rideau Manor, as it was a BCIT student residence at the time.

Over the last 30 years he has worked in hotels, restaurants, and catering facilities throughout the Vancouver area. He also worked in England and Scotland for six months!

David loves playing ice hockey and gets to do that a few times a week. He recently traveled to Thailand and later this year he will be traveling to Italy.

Gunter Tagesen – Building Services Manager

Gunter Tagesen is our Building Services Manager. He has 20 years of maintenance experience and he has been with the Chalmers Foundation for seven years.

Gunter is German, and he is fluent in both German and English. In his free time, he loves watching and playing soccer.

Eric D’Souza – Director of Care

Eric D’Souza has been working with the Chalmers Foundation for over seven years.

He studied and got into nursing into nursing in 2006. He has an RN license from Washington State Board of Nursing.

He discovered a love for gerontological nursing and working with seniors, which led him to do an advanced Gerontology Diploma from Selkirk College and a Gerontology Certification from CNA.

During his spare time he enjoys playing badminton.

Jasmine Lin – Kitchen Manager

Jasmine Lin started her career in the hospitality industry in 2005. She took Hospitality Management through AHLEI (American Hotel and Lodging Education Institute).

She later discovered her passion for cooking. In 2008, Jasmine graduated from VCC (Vancouver Community College) with a diploma in Culinary Arts and was selected to support the 2008 Olympics as part of the culinary team for Canada. After returning from Beijing, she obtained her Red Seal Certificate in 2015.

Jasmine’s career brought experience working for the Olympics, fast food and fine dining restaurants alike, hotels, and care homes.

She joined Chalmers foundation in 2020, She strives to create wonderful dining experiences for the residents.

Culinary Services Department

Our Culinary Services Department is made of Kitchen Staff (our chefs, cooks, and dishwashers) and our Front of House staff with our amazing servers.

Housekeeping Department

The ladies in our Housekeeping Department are always hard at work to ensure our suites, common areas and high traffic zones are fresh, clean and sanitized.

Nursing & Wellness Department

Did you know that our Wellness Department is available 24/7 to provide care and services to our residents?

With a team of Care Aides, LPN and RN, our Wellness Department is always available to provide care to our residents any time they need.

Reception Department

Reception is the first and last stop for every visitor, here at Rideau Residence. Our team is always available, at any hour, to respond to visitors and residents’ questions.
