Residents are allowed to leave the building whenever they please. It is their home and their neighbourhood.

We only ask for residents to sign in and out upon entering and exiting, and to advise the care staff and reception of their whereabouts.

For longer and overnight absences, please make sure the staff is aware before leaving the building.

Family and friends are allowed to visit at any time, as long as the COVID-19 guidelines are followed.

Visitors may be asked to sign in upon entrance, and to sign out when leaving the building.

Visitors are allowed into the resident’s room at the resident’s discretion, and meals can be pre-booked to be shared with the resident at meal times.

Rideau Residence is a pet free building.

To ensure the safety of residents, staff and other visitors, we allow only Service Animals and emotional support animals with proper documentation inside the building. We also require for Service Animals to be kept on leash at all times during the visit.

The park across the street is however a great space to bring your pet so that you and your loved ones can enjoy the visit.

Electric scooters should only be operated outside of the building.

Walkers and wheelchairs are permitted inside of the building. Please ensure that they do not become a hazard to others by leaving them in hallways or the dining room. In order to ensure standards of safety and service, walkers will be removed from the dining room during meal service.

Parking is available for cars and/or scooters for a fee.
